For those chapped hands, try some honey. Wet your hands and shake off the water without actually drying them. Then rub some honey all over your hands. When they’re completely honey coated, let them stay that way for five minutes. ( This will give you the opportunity to lean back, close your eyes and relax for five minutes)

Next, rub your hands as you rinse them under tepid water. Then pat your hands dry. Do this every day until you want to clap hands for your un-chapped hands.

Also, you can take 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar in the palm of your hand and add a few drops of castor oil and enough fresh lemon juice to totally moisten the sugar. Vigorously massage your hands together for a few minutes. Rinse with tepid water and pat dry. This hand scrub should leave hands smooth and , in the process, remove stains.

Many farmer’s favorite remedy for chapped and soiled hands is to combine about ¼ cup of cornmeal, 1 tablespoon of water and enough apple cider vinegar to make the mixture the consistency of a loose paste. Rub this mildly abrasive mixture all over your hands for 10 minutes. Rinse with tepid water and pat dry. This treatment can remove dirt, soften, soothe and heal the hands.

Smokers cough

This remedy is updated from the Universal Cookery Book (circa 1888). Pour 1 quart of boiling water over 4 tablespoons of whole flaxseed and steep for three hours. Strain, add the juice of two lemons and sweeten with honey (which replaces the crystals of rock candy used in the original recipe). Take a tablespoon whenever the cough acts up.

An even better remedy for smoker’s cough — stop smoking!

———————————————————-

Dry cough

Take 1-2 tablespoons of potato water each time the cough acts up. You may also want to add honey to taste.

Potato Water

Scrub two medium sized potatoes (use organic, if possible) and cut them in half. Put the four halves in a pot with 4 cups of water (filtered, spring or distilled, if possible) and bring to a boil. Lower the flame a little and let the potatoes cook for 30 minutes.

When they’re done, take out the potatoes (eating them is optional) and save the water. Most remedies suggest that you drink 2 cups of potato water. Refrigerate the left-over water for the next time.

————————————————————

Bronchial Coughs

Add 3 drops of oil of fennel and 3 drops of oil of anise to 6 tablespoons of honey. Shake vigorously and bottle it. Take 1 teaspoon when you start to cough.

If you haven’t prepared the syrup in advance of your cough and don’t have the necessary ingredients, you may want to settle for second best. Do you have the liqueur called anisette? Take 1 teaspoon of anisette in 1 tablespoon of hot water, every 3 hours.

Nighttime cough

To help loosen phlegm, fry two finely chopped medium onions in lard or vegetable shortening. As soon as it’s cool enough to touch, rub the mixture on the person’s chest and wrap the chest with a clean (preferably white) cloth. Do this procedure in the evening. It may result in a good night’s sleep.

Celery Tonic will help ARTHRITIS

It may not make sense at first, but when arthritis makes your joints ache all over, a workout of sorts may be in order.  Researchers at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City recently studied more than 100 people who had arthritis of the knees.  Half were put on a walking program; the other half did not partake in regular exercise.  After eight weeks, the walkers reported decidedly less pain and less reliance on pain medication.  Also, they were able to walk farther without pain than they had been able to before the test started.

CELERY TONIC:

For such a seemingly mild-mannered vegetable, celery packs a surprisingly strong medicinal punch.  Celery seed contains at least 12 compounds that have anti-inflammatory effects, which makes celery desirable as a natural treatment for arthritis.  You can take celery seed in extract form, available in herb shops and health food stores, or you can eat the stalks themselves.  Four stalks of celery a day should deliver healing benefits.

Feeling feverish and think you’re coming down with the flu? Swallow a tablespoon of sambucol extract every two hours as a good replacement for over-the-counter flu remedies.  Sambucol, made from brightly colored elderberries, is loaded with bioflavonoids and vitamin C, which can help knock out the viral infection that causes the flu.  You can buy it in most health food shops.

RELIEF FOR WAX BUILDUP IN THE EARS

First things first, most people don’t need to clean inside their ears–with safety swabs or anything else. The ear does a good job of using the wax as a sort of safety seal–to keep dirt and bacteria out–and doesn’t need pushing in on the wax.  Plus, eventually, excess wax and oils push themselves into the outer ear canal, where you can easily reach them with a washcloth and a pinky finger.

If there is a heavy buildup of wax, and it is causing pain or affecting hearing, a home remedy of baby oil can help.  Simply ease two or three drops of oil into the ear and let it do its work.  It will soften the wax buildup, often overnight, making it easier to clean and safely remove (again with a washcloth, not with an ear swab, in the outer ear canal). Some doctors prescribe “softening drops” for wax, but others say baby oil works as well and is less expensive.

Oxygen Therapy - A new exciting treatment

Oxygen therapy is quickly becoming one of the most controversial, yet effective forms of alternative medicine to enter the medical spotlight. It has many potential uses, ranging from a means of headache relief to a possible cure for AIDS and cancer, and the treatments seem simple and inexpensive. Oxygen therapy, however, remains a sketchy area in the medical community. Despite all the claims that have been made, little evidence has been brought into the public’s eye to confirm or deny the validity of these reports. It will be shown, however, that like many other scientific claims, it is easy to separate the facts of oxygen therapy from the fiction.

Many of the advocates of oxygen therapy feel that its potential uses are limitless. This is due to the fact that: For many years the health sciences have been seeking to identify the primary physical cause of all diseases, and the cure-all that this basic principal would yield. Now both have been found, but their utter simplicity makes them difficult to accept at first since it seems like if it’s that easy, we should have been using them all along.

This fundamental cause of all disease, according to some specialists, is a lack of oxygen. This is made evident by the fact that the body is “composed mostly of water, which is eight-ninths oxygen,” and “only oxygen is in such a constant demand that it’s absence brings death in minutes”.

This topic is covered in a publication called “The One Minute Cure” so you can decided for yourself  if this is an alternative healing treatment you may want to try.

Discover Your Body’s Own Ability to Heal Itself

My husband and I recently decided to actively try to find something (other than drugs with terrible side effects) to help his Essential tremor, as it is getting worse and interfering with his ability to write or use tools.  The only option the medical field provides is a brain surgery that plants a small electrical device in the center part of brain to break the tremor impulse. We decided that procedure might cause more damage before it could help and began our search.

We found this product that supports the natural release of adult stem cells. It is a natural botanical extract that supports wellness by helping the body maintain healthy stem cell physiology.  It is the very first product on the market from the latest phytoceutical product category called “stem cell enhancers”.

What are stem cells?

Stem cells can be thought of as “master” cells.  You’ve probably hard about he controversy of embryonic stem cells in the news.  Stem cells are found in human embryos, but are also found in adult tissue. Adult stem cells are most abundantly found in bone marrow.  Stem cells, circulate and function to replace dysfunctional cells, thus fulfilling the natural process of maintaining optimal health. These “stem cell enhancers” support the release of adult stem cells from bone marrow into circulation.

Several clinical studies have been conducted on the product in addition to several in-vitro trials.

What are stem cell enhancers?

Recent scientific developments have revealed that stem cells derived from the bone marrow travel throughout the body, and act to support optimal organ and tissue function. Stem cell enhancers are products that support the natural role of adult stem cells.

As we age, the number and quality of stem cells that circulate in our bodies gradually decrease, leaving our body more susceptible to injury and other age-related health challenges. Just as antioxidants are important to protect your cells from “free radical” damage, stem cell enhancers are equally important to support your stem cells in maintaining proper organ and tissue functioning in your body.

It does sound like a pitch, but the truth of the matter is that IT HAS HELPED.  After 3 months of taking this product, he can make his field notes and use his tools and the tremors have lessened by 1/3.

If you believe this product can help improve the quality of your life, go to this link.  It is well worth checking out. It seems to have very good results for Diabetics and those with soft tissue problems.

Over the centuries, garlic’s healing potential has been recognized throughout the world. Researches have identified that it is good for he heart and circulation as it lowers the level of cholesterol and triglycerides.  There is increasing evidence that including garlic in the diet may play a role in preventing and treating cancer.  It is an immune system booster and can help prevent colds and the flu.

Here are some “new-to-me” uses for the wonderful tuber, GARLIC.

Garlic is often applied to indolent tumors, ulcerated surfaces and wounds. A poultice of the bulb is used for scrofulous sores and ringworm. A clove of garlic when introduced into the ear passage gives relief of earache. It is locally used in sciatica, paralysis and neuralgic pains. Raw Garlic juice is inhaled in whooping cough and pulmonary tuberculosis.
